A copy on onion skin paper of a letter to Mr. Herman Wente, Wente Brothers Winery, Livermore, California, dated Oct. 29, 1960Context
October 29, 1960
Dear Mr. Wente:
Thank you very much for taking the time from your work to teach a neophyte in the wine business a little about white wine. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at your winery and your most gracious hospitality.
I have not yet had time to go through my vines since returning to St. Joseph trying to catch up on my work that piled up while I was away. However, I am certainly going to write Dr. Frank and try to obtain some Chardonnay brush and graft it rather high on some of the native wild grape roots that I can find.
Thank you again.
Sincerely,Lexicon
