A copy of a letter on onion skin paper from Wilbur P. McDonald, M. D. to Dr. James A. Cook, Dept. of Viticulture & Enology, Univ. of Calif., Davis, Calif. , dated November 7, 1966. The letters COPY in red ink are down the left hand side of the page.Context
Dear Dr. Cook:
Thank you for your kindness to me the morning of October 17th, and for your discussion on fertilization. I immediately came home, bought a box of Borax, 99.5% pure and put one tablespoonful around each of 140 vines. What else is needed in the way of fertilization I will let you tell me next spring when I send some leaf samples as the vines start to bloom.
I learned a lot that day and enjoyed every minute of it. Had a wonderful afternoon with Dr. Olmo.
Thanks again for your graciousness and your time, and I apologize for making you late for your guest at lunch.
Sincerely,Lexicon
