Scope and Content

A copy of a letter, on onion skin paper, from Wilbur P. McDonald, M. D. to Mr. Nicholas Reinprecht, Eisenstadt, Austria, October 20, 1965. The letters COPY in red ink are down the left hand side of the page.

Context

Dear Mr. Reinprecht : Please accept my appreciation and my thanks for a wonderful afternoon with you and your kind niece, in your vineyards and wine house. As an amateur vintner I have much yet to learn and you were very generous of your time in trying to teach me. Thank you for the Burgunder and Muskateller which you gave me. These bottles will, be saved for a festive occasion. While in Salsburg I had myself measured for a pair of pants like yours with a jacket to match. They are to be mailed to me when completed, so that by Christmas I may be able to have the outward appearance of an Austrian Wingut. My wife doesn't seem to appreciate the idea of a small cannon being fired in her backyard every few minutes, so it looks like I'll have to find some other solution to my bird problem. Sincerely,
