Two supporting letters from V. L. Smith on Bemis Company, Inc., Kansas City, Mo letterhead to Dr. Wilbur McDonald, June 7, 1968 with the supplemental letter dated June 25, 1968.Context
Dear Doctor McDonald :
Yesterday I left a 25 yard sample of our 48" twisted paper, open mesh material with Allen Schreiber. Allen has kindly offered to deliver this to you when you return from "North St. Jo".
This sample is for you to experiment with and is at no charge. The plastic netting would not be available.
If this 48" open mesh serves your purpose we could supply it at 12¢ per lineal yard and it is put up 250 yards per roll. It would be freight paid to St. Joseph on 250 yards or more.
I am checking to se if our plant could sew two widths together resulting in the 8' width you need. Later I can advise you in this.
Our visit with you was pleasant and informative.
Very truly yours.
cc-Mr. Allen Schreiber

Dear Doctor McDonald:
This will supplement my June 7 letter regarding Bemis open mesh material.
I did check and our plant cannot sew two widths together. If this would benefit your purpose, you might check with local awning companies to see if they could do this type of sewing.
I do notice one error in my June 7 letter referring to this as 48" wide. Actually, it is 45" width.
Very truly yours.
cc-Mr. Allen SchreiberLexicon
