Friend Vib:
Ginny and I certainly hope that Eleanor is progressing well, and am sorry that we were unable to get to Philadelphia to personally say hello.
Recently the State Department had a group of independent wine experts to evaluate American wines so that these could be recommended for use by our Embassies abroad, which resulted in the attached and I thought you would like to have a copy of it.
Ginny joins in best wishes to Eleanor and yourself.
Sincerely yours,

Dear True:
Thank you for the list of wines recommended by the State Departments Wine Committee. It is encouraging to know that there are people who appreciate the good wines can be made in the United States and are being made. Most off the wines listed I am familiar with, as well as some that are not listed.
While Eleanor was in the hospital in Philadelphia, I ran off one afternoon, going to the Boordy Vineyards at Rider Wood, Maryland, right north of Baltimore. Mr. Wagoner was one of the earliest growers of the French Hybrid Grapes, and he now puts out a good red and white wine as well as his Ros'e which is the only one listed. here is no reason why a comparable wine could not be made right here in Northwest Missouri.
It was nice of you and Ginny to think of us while we were in Philadelphia and we appreciate your thoughts and flowers. Eleanor couldn't have gotten along any better and is now able to eat, drink and go to bed.
Hope to see you and Ginny the next time you are in St. Joe.Lexicon
