A copy of a letter, on onion skin paper, from Wilbur P. McDonald, M. D., to Mary Bond, Liquor
Ledger Clerk, Dept. of Liquor Control , Jefferson City, Mo. dated Jan 12, 1968. The letters COPY in red ink are printed down the left hand side of the page.Context
Dear Mary:
Due to rearranging my vineyard, to the late April freeze, and to the over abundance of birds in August, I was only able to save sufficient grapes of Seibel #5279 and Missouri Reisling to make 5 gallon varietal batches.
It was a poor vintage year.
I am excite about the coming season. If my grafted vines survive the winter, then next I fall I will possibly be able to make a wine from true Vinifera grapes grown in Missouri.
Sincerely,Lexicon
