Context

Dear Barbara and Wilbur, Hi! How are you? We really appreciated hearing from you at Christmas. It was great of you to write. We had a quiet, at-home Christmas his year. Sung Jin had tonsillitis, which meant we were unable to go to a Korean Church party on Christmas Eve. That night Tom showed an evangelistic film and then returned home in time to pick up our Korean "daughter" Sarah, (a young lady from our church in Taejon) at the bus station. . . . . . . For New Year's our Taejon language teacher/friend, Miss Lee, came out to visit. Since we were all healthy, we got up early on New Year's Day and went to the East Sea beach nearby to watch the sunrise. . . . . . . The Korean school year begins in February and runs through July. In August, the second semester starts and runs till almost Christmas. . . . . . These days, we're preparing for a week of work in the Taebek area, 2½ hours south of Kangnung. This mountainous area is economically depressed after the government . . . . . We begin this new year with our Baptist missionaries organized into "Church Planting Teams." We are a team with . . . Tom and I have been asked to oversee the planning of our Annual Mission Meeting July 1-5 at Kyongju. In past years, I have coordinated the children's activities . . . Thanks again for writing! We appreciate news from the States and are praying for you also during these difficult days of international strife. By Love Compelled Tom, Robbi & Sung Jin Stokovaz
