A Xerox copy on tan paper of a letter from James Howe to Bill, dated November 6, 1960. And a subsequent memo from W. H. Muchnic (aka Bill) to Dr. McDonald, dated November 9, 1950 on a 5 " x 8" sheet of paperContext
Dear Bill:
It was really a delight meeting up with Eleanor and Doc McDonald. Our walnut and almond growing
neighbors all enjoyed meeting them.
Wine making is like reaching for the stars. Something to look forward to, striving, anticipating in making a
great wine. Assuredly a great hobby, though somewhat complicated. The Doc heard so much, out here,
how to do this with the grapes and then do that, I trust he did not get discouraged.
Best wishes, always, warmly yours
