Dear Dr. McDonald:
Indeed the Society would welcome your participation in the Vintage Tour October 1st, but I had best 'phone you at the Fairmont Hotel and explain the details.
One detail is that the Society's events -- except our tastings -- are all male. There is no rule against ladies, but one lady on a vintage tour would probably be uncomfortable.
If this reaches you before Saturday, please 'phone me at . . . . or . . . .
I personally am looking forward to meeting you because -- unrelated to the Society -- I'm just going to press with my book on AMERICAN WINES, which contains a considerable section on the history and revival of winegrowing in Missouri.
