Dear Mr, Stewart:
I was very disappointed when I received the #10 License for the production of domestic wine for 1976-77, when the renewal application plainly stated License #2.
Back n 1957 it took three years of inquiry, applications, letters, etc. to obtain a license to produce domestic wine in the State of Missouri, and finally in 1961 I was issued the #2 License. The No. 1 License was held by Mr. Emil Wepprich of St. Charles, Missouri who had been able to maintain his domestic wine license during prohibition. Thus I have treasured the #2 spot over the years, even if it does not improve the taste of my wine. In 1972-73 I was bumped to License #7. Over my protests, I was issued License #16 in 1973-74, and #8 in 1974-75. Last year I was happy to be reinstated to my rightful 2 spot and had hoped to maintain it.
Is there some way that we can get some continuity so that I may be assured of receiving License #2 in the future.
