Dear Sir:
In answer to your letter dated February 10, 1985 - We do not sell Vinifera vines as their hardiness is far short of what we could us in this area. We do have a beautiful Red - called the St. Croix. The St. Croix has only been entered into 3 wine tastings and if I did not tell you differently you would never know from its taste that is was not a true vinifera. As it has both hardy reparia and Vinifera in its germplasm. We have patented the vine. It has never placed less than third - that third being in the international home-wine makers annual vent in Sacramento, Calif (over 150 entrie -dry red).
We also have a beautiful white and while is has not shown any labrusca here, it could perhaps in your local with its longer season (Esprit).
We are out of vines but would sell you 3 bud cuttings which you could easily root yourself. $0.60/cutting. That you for your inquiry and I wish we could have been more help.
Sincerely,
(there is a handwritten notation after the body of the letter that reads ' 4 March '85 Sent for 10 cuttings each - "St. Croix" and "Esprit". 'Lexicon
