A letter from Albert J. Letz, Supervisor, Department of Liquor Control, Jefferson City Mo. to Mr. Wilbur P. McDonald, M. D. dated June 23, 1978. It is on Department of Public Safety, Division Of Liquor Control letterhead with the department symbol in the upper left corner, and the names of the governor and Director in either corners. This letter is in response to Dr. McDonald's letter of June 20, 1978.Context
Dear Mr. McDonald:
I have your letter of June 20, 1978 inquiring if there are any valid reasons why you cannot maintain the number 2 license to make domestic wine in the State of Missouri.
I have been Supervisor of this Division since May, 1977, therefore, I am not familiar with your difficulties of maintaining license number 2 in the past. However, I have been advised by my staff that license numbers are assigned in the order that renewal applications are received. This procedure is necessary since the Division is required to make daily deposits of all receipts and to assure that all licenses are issued and mailed from this office by July 1.
I appreciate your concern in maintaining number 2, however, I think you can see the problems of assigning permanent license numbers to over fourteen thousand licenses.
If you will make your request prior to May 1dt for the next license year, we will attempt to fill your request for number 2.
Very truly yours,
cc: Lt. Gov. William Phelps
