Scope and Content

A Xerox copy of a letter, from Wilbur P. McDonald, M. D., to Paul Wlos, Peotone, Ill., dated May 12, 1981. It is written on Dr. McDonald's office letterhead.

Context

Dear Paul: Glad you received the Ruby Cabernet cuttings and I am glad you made contact with Professor Olmo. He is a wonderful and kind gentleman. Sorry I missed the grafting siminar in St. James. I have tried some of the inverted T-bud grafts and have had only medium success. There was an excellent article in the last Journal of Enology and I think it must have been written by Dr. Allen doncerning inverted T-bud grafting. I have not met Dutton Gibbs of the MIDI Vineyards, but have tasted a few of his wines. On the average his wines are not as good as mine, and mine on the average, are graded at about 2 on a scale of 1 to 10 when compared with vinifera. Good luck. Let me hear how your grafts do. Sincerely,
