Context

November 3rd 1960 Dear Mrs. McDonald: Pleased to hear that you were able to get reservations at The Ahwahnee Hotel and that our wines were available there. We were really disappointed, however, to learn of your experience at the Fleur de Lys; although . . . , sooner or later he is going to learn that he must push a few California wines - otherwise he will not have any more business. It was interesting to hear that our conversation re the Schindler family turned out to be the family you knew. We are certainly sorry to hear that Mrs. Schindler is not so well, . . . We certainly enjoyed your visit with us and hope that on your next trip to California you will find time to come and pay us another visit - perhaps we will have some younger vintages available by that time for you to sample. We have written New York about the case of Chateau Wente and in due time it should be available at our Kansas City wholesaler. He should also have in stock the assortment of Dry Semillon and Pinot Chardonnay in half-bottles, - if not he can order them for you as this is a standard item with all our distributors in the United States. Again - many, many thanks for your continued interest in our wines, and with best regards to yourself and Doctor McDonald, Sincerely yours,
