Correspondence containing a letter from Mr. Ralph R. Lashbrook, Supervisor in Charge, Alcohol and Tobacco Tax, on letterhead from U. S. Treasury Department, Internal Revenue Service, to Dr. Wilbur P. McDonald, dated February 18, 1964. A subsequent letter from Dr. McDonald to Mr. Lashbrook dated Feb. 24, 1964 and a copy of said letter on onion skin paper, with the letters COPY in red printed down the left hand side of the paper.Context
Dear Dr. McDonald:
Your completed Form 1541, Registration for Production of Wine for Family Use, were received this date.
Under Section I of the above form you state you intend to commence production of wine in August 1964. Regulations provide that a new registration form must be filled each year, reckoning the year from July 1 to the following June 30.
Two Forms 1541 are enclosed for your use after June 30. However, if you intend to commence production of wine prior to June 30 these forms should be completed and forwarded to this office.

Dear Mr. Lashbrook:
Sorry to have jumped the gun on my registration for Production of Wine for Family Use Forms for 1964. I had forgotten that the fiscal year started July 1st and did not wish my registration to run out.
Should I keep the enclosed forms 1541 and resubmit them to you about July 1st for wine production in (insert handwritten August) 1964 or will the forms I already submitted be sufficient?
