Scope and Content

A blue colored letter that folds into an envelope from Russell Stern, Hon. Secretary, A.S.P.C., Sydney to Theodore M. Kranitz, Boder Building, St. Joseph, Missouri U.S.A., postmarked Sydney 17 NOV 1980. The envelope in imprinted with an Australian 33¢ stamp that has an orange background and a white airplane in the middle. It is encased inside a clear protective sleeve.

Context

In the return address location is 'By Air Mail Par Avion AEROGRAMME' 16th November, 1980 Dear Sir, I refer to you letter dated 9th October. My records show that sheet numbered 553 was included in the envelope that was posted to you. Unfortunately, the issue was a sell-out, and if we could, it would not be possible to replace the item. However, are you sure that the envelope was not tampered with during the course of the mail ? Yours faithfully,
