Letter from R.M. Mattox to Harry George regarding the availability of an "Indian Mummy" and some pottery for which he includes drawings.
Mr Harry L George St Joseph
Sir answering Yours of 3rd will say. This I did not have a chance to give the mummy a clos inspection as there was a lot of Indians close by. But as near as I could tell it is in a good state of Praservation from the head [beloe?] the middle of the Boddy
I couldnt see the feet at that time But think it is all there as it was in a dry cave.
There was several Pieces of potery over Ollia about this shape which would hold about a quart [sketch of pottery shape] and another like this [sketch of pottery shape] about ½ Gallon. And one or two smaller pieces. I am sure from the place it is in and from what I saw it is in good condition. And while I dont Place a bet of value on such things. You can bet it will be worth all I ask to get. away with it and a whole skin at the same time.
Respectfully
RM Mattox
