Description

A typed letter from O.M. McPherson, Special Indian Agent at the Hayward Training School, Wis., to Harry George regarding sources of information on the Croatan Indians of North Carolina. Vol II pg. 10D The letter responds to Mr. George’s inquiry about whether the Croatan Indians of North Carolina manufacture items that would be interesting to collectors. The author explains that the Croatan Indians are primarily agricultural and do not produce special manufactured articles for ceremonial or daily use. It is suggested that Willie Lowry, a member of the tribe and a storekeeper in Pembroke, Robeson County, North Carolina, could provide more information about such manufactures.
