Letter from E.J. Meyer of the Merchants National Bank, Omaha, Nebraska, regarding a collection in his keeping that might be for sale.
Nov 15 - ‘13
Mr. Harry L. George.
Dear Sir -
Upon my return home I found your letter of inquiry. The shirt in question and all the rest of the stuff have been hanging on the walls, for years. It was impossible to distinguish the painting but the following rough diagram will give you an idea of the appearance.
[sketch of shirt]
The shirt was not over 3 ft from collar to tail and rather narrow in proportion. The paintings (as seen[?], ar 2 curved [?] resembled snakes. The article in question is greatly in need of a thorough dusting at which time [I imagine?] other paintings would show. Hardly think there would be any chance of buying less than the entire collection. The stuff is all old. The owner himself is and oldtimer and claims to know the history of every piece.
The shirt is small compared to the one I [?] you. I am not positive but think it is made of similar material. Trusting that I have supplied you with the information desired
I [?]
Sincerely yours,
E J. MeyerSubject
