Description

Vol II pg. 60E Letter from Harry George to William Bickel inquiring as to what Navajo items he might have to sell and terms. 7/27/08. Ft. Defiance, Ariz. Sir: Mr. Wm. H. Harrison, Supt. of the Navajo Indians at Ft. Defiance Ariz. has given me your name stating that you would be able to supply me with anything that the Indians at Ft. Defiance reservation are willing to sell. Will you kindly let me know as explicitly as possibly what you can furnish so that I can send you an order and leave the selection to you. That being the only way that I can purchase what I may want, unless some other arrangements can be made to bring same to my attention. For a number of years I have been a collector of Indian baskets. My desire has been more to make a representative collection of the work of each of the tribes of our country, rather than confine my efforts to a few of the same. Therefore I am open for almost anything that would be of a representative character. Yours very truly,
