Description

Vol II pg. 53D Letter from Grace Nicholson to Harry George regarding baskets she has and some she has already sold. Nov. 4, 1912. Mr. Harry L. George, 201 Saxton Bank Bldg., St Joseph, Mo. Dear Sir: – I am inclosing bill for the Shasta Baskets sent you. In the meantime I have received your interesting data descriptive of the Basket Collection and Alaskan Curios. Since writing you I have disposed of all of the good Museum material collected in New Mexico and Arizona. I did not go to Philadelphia, but party there sent me photographs of their Collection of Baskets. I did not see anything that interested me especially as I could duplicate every piece at a lower price. When I receive my next lot of Alaskan material I will compare the list with the one you sent me, and let you know if there is anything of special interest to you. I note that you suggest that I visit the Indians of Washington, Oregon, etc. sometime. I have already thoroughly covered this territory in years past. I have sold all of my Choctaw and Siletz material, as a number of Collectors have been here and purchased quantities of my best material. Very truly yours. Grace Nicholson
