Description

Vol II pg. 53B Letter from Grace Nicholson to Harry George discussing the possibility of a museum buying his entire collection and whether she is interested in items he has. June 1, 1912. Mr. Harry L. George, St Joseph, Mo. Dear Sir: – I am in receipt of your favors of the 21st and 22nd and reply today, as I am leaving again tomorrow. I honestly do not know of any Museum in the country who would buy an entire collection of Indian goods, as they only wish individual specimens to fill in their present collections Large collections are usually only sold to some newly organized Museum, and I do not know of anyat the present time. Then again very few Museums ever have any money to spend. They depend upon individual gifts. At present I have a great number of water jugs and burden baskets. Anyway I could not do anything about them until later in the Fall. If you do not dispose of them before that time I will consider them. Very truly yours, Grace Nicholson.
