A letter from Frank D. Sundstrom, President, 'heliotopia, ltd.', Ozark, MO to Wilbur P. McDonald, M. D. dated October 31, 1978. It is on heliotopia, ltd. letterhead with the motto "Something New Under The Sun" printed under the company name. It is heavy, light yellow paper with a gold starburst in the upper left corner, and green & orange lined border. The letter is in response to Dr. McDonald's letter of October 27, 1978.Context
Dear Wilbur:
Thank you for your letter of October 27, 1978.
Paul and I mourn the passing of your grapes and realize what a shock that must have been. We also rad with interet the reply from the American Journal of Enology and Viticulture and we are apologetic for so much trouble to you.
Now for a crop report from the Ozark Crest Vineyards: Our Catawbas did extremely well this year and we had enough fruit to make jelly and juice to provide enough juice to get our "feet wet" in the cellar wine making process, a quantity of which I am sure will have no effect on the national marketplace. I make this statement in relationship to the quantity not the quality! Of course, we also befriended a number of racoons. The vine growth was encouraging and we anticipate some marketable fruit this coming year. My Bacos performed in their usual vigorous manner and was interested to read in the Journal studies made as to the pruning techniques used to control the vigorous growth.
I am encouraged to hear the increase in advertising density in relation to the wine industry and was encouraged to hear the Governor has appointed a task force to promote wine and vineyards in our fair state. Since that time I have heard of little action, however the potential exists.
We appreciate your personal interest in our little project and thank you for the thoughtfulness of sending us a most informative publication. We would welcome your visit any time you are in the area.
