Context

Letter from Station Hospital, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, Office of the Surgeon.- To Whom It May Concern: Miss Maryan Carlson has been employed at this Fort Leavenworth Station Hospital in the office of the Registrar since December 1945. During this short time she has given an advanced civil service rating, having proved herself to be a capable, intelligent and reliable employee. During the period from December 1945 to date her duties have ben those of clerk-typist; however, during one six-week period she filled the position of Chief Clerk in the Sick and Wounded Office of this Station Hospital, which is normally occupied by Army personnel, this office being directly under the supervision of the Registrar. Miss Carlson has a thorough knowledge of medical terminology, record room procedures, and is a member of the American Association of Medical Record Librarians. Her ability to take medical dictation has been of frequent value to the medical staff of this hospital. This excellent recommendation has been given with genuine consideration and with knowledge that her departure would be a distinct loss to this office. Arch C.
