Letter from Sarah J. Henderson to Harry George discussing an Eskimo basket and bags for sale. Vol 1 P. 223G
Dear Sir:-
Your favor of the 13th instant is at hand and it pleases me to
know that your last order came promptly to hand and gives entire satisfaction.
Will say concerning the Eskimo basket that it is classed as a coiled basket and the
Eskimo basket weavers are found in the district tributary to Norton Sound and Bristal Bay
I do not know if the Eskimo's have tribal names.
Sally bags took their name from a squaw of that name, who made the best bags of the kind.
Salmon bags are larger ^sizes of mine ranging from 13 by 14, to 18 by 21 inches,
the Indians sizing them for bagging their catch of fish at the falls along the streams.
Yours very truly
