Description

Letter from Sarah J. Henderson to Harry George discussing Clatsop baskets and prices. Vol 1 P. 222C Sir: Your favor of May 20th is at hand; contents noted. The Clatsop basket you saw, (at Thirty Dollars) I will let you have for Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00) and will hold it ^for you until time for return communication by mail. Fine Clatsop baskets are not often to be bought at any price. Perhaps I should call your attention to the fact that the row of figures, we call horses, near the upper edge of the basket, is done in wool instead of straw. This is the week of our annual Rose Festival therefore nothing can be done about photographing my baskets, until next week. The question of deducting cost of photo from price of basket bought would depend upon the extent of your purchases. Yours truly (written vertically along the left edge of the page) P. S. I have no further news of the collection I spoke to you of but have secured some desirable British Columbian, and Klickitat baskets since.
