A 2-page letter from F. W. Bohle to Harry L. George referencing an interaction with a Mr. E. E. Edwards in San Francisco, who reportedly possesses a collection of Navajo blankets. Vol I pg. 31G
Dear Sir:
Many thanks for yours of the 27th just received.
Will make list as suggested but it will take considerable time before same will reach you.
I take great pleasure in writing you a few lines today - asking: Do you care to sell your fine Pueblo Blanket?
You see I take just as much interest in your things as you are interested in mine!
Last week I met a E. E. Edwards - very fine gentleman living in San Francisco.
Mr. Edwards told me he had some good old Navaho Blankets and insisted me to call on him.
Very much to my surprise I did see a collection of 15 - 20 pieces valued at $10,000.00
It certainly was a surprise and a great treat to see what I may ???? - every piece was a Museum piece.
??????? his old Navaho - things are old
2)
Pueblo Blanket - much like yours but not as good in design, color, wear, etc.
His Pueblo Blanket, Mr Edwards valued 500.00 and to make a long story short, this is
the very reason I am addressing you today in case you wish to sell your fine old Pueblo Blanket!
I consider Mr. E. E. Edwards a very fine & reliable gentleman. He's been collecting old Navahos for
over 25 years, but does not collect Baskets at all.
Now then if your Blanket as I stated is better in design, color-????? and general make
than his valued at 500.00 what value do you place on yours?
Not my business - mostly write you this letter in case you care to dispose of our Navajo Blanket!
Sincerely yours
