Dear Fannie Lu:
My how time does Fly. You have been gone two weeks. Daddy & I spent first of week watching Republican convention, and are real please with outcome. Went to Boonville, Wed. to help Dora make up her mind what to do. She is going to move up on Main Street close to Steven's T. V. will probably go up and help her move when they get building ready.
Zeddy & Cora came down last night. We played cards & I popped corn. They are going to stay until tomorrow. Cora brought material & is cutting out a dress. Your baby just jumped up here in chair with me. He follows me everywhere I go. He was in basement with me yesterday. I had gone down in elevator. I went back in back room and he missed me. He got on elevator and cried so loud Daddy heard him up stairs and went to elevator & brought him up on it. Kay gave me 12 crappie for him Thursday. We really enjoyed your letter. Kay got her card Friday & Jess & Lavonne got theirs yesterday. Scott hurt his foot before he left. Check on it and let me know. He didn't tell his folks about it and by accident they found out about it. Zeddy & Daddy are putting some new rug padding on boat Trailor. It is raining so they are doing it in basement. Got your cards from N. Y. London & Perugia. Hope you have sent Aunt Jay & Uncle Jim a card. The only letter I have had from her she sounded real blue. Norene & Jorene have been out in Kansas all week. The sunflowers in flower bed where tomatoes are, are 15 foot high. We have had a lot of rain ever since you left. Have gotten your car licenses $25.40 & your telephone bill came, so will use your other check for it. They charged $12.00 for phone in basement. It is just like a fall day here today. Zeddy & Daddy both have on jackets. I think Martins telephone number is Area Code 201-464-3613, but if that isn't right just call information for Murray Hill, N.J. telephone no. Marion said she wished she had of known, she would have sent Cheryl.
Love Mother
