Description

Vol I pg. 23GG Letter from A.A. Bear to Harry George noting the shipment of Pima plaques, describing the same, and discussing other reservations in Arizona. Dear Sir: Am sending by registered mail two Pima plaques made on the Salt River Reservations. I had my friend select them and I am satisfied that you have two very choice plaques as they were the best out of a very large collection. I was tempted to keep them for myself. There is rare weave of the Pima which exceeds even the the Apache in fineness: but very expensive. I have seen one or two of that type. One I saw was six inches in diameter and valued at $15. I think I was slightly mistaken concerning the tribe on the Gila River and shall look it up more carefully and write you again. The price including postage of the large and small plaque is $5.50 and $3.50 respectfully. I trust you will be pleased, Very truly yours,
