Dear Sir:
Your courteous and appreciated favor of the 8'mos. as received this mail, and I hasten to reply. I don't quite understand why your letter was so long delayed.
I am sure that you must think me very dilatory in security the information which you desire, but as it happens my time which is usually well filled at present is more than well filled, owning to the fact that I am preparing to close up my work on the McDowell Reservation on occasion of a transfer which will occur in the near future.
I am glad that you are pleased with the recess plaque. I was very sure you would be. The cast of it was eight dollars exclusive of postage. I really don't remember the amount of postage and if you don't make an estimate. I suppose something like thirty cents. Did I tell you that the woman lost her hand in an Indian war against the U. S. Troops?
I shall look out for a fine Pima plaque and shall send it if you so desire, subject to your approval. You know the very fine ones are unusually so small that the postage would be but a few cents.
I am writing this mail for the information regarding those Reservations. I had hoped to look this matter up personally so as to secure exact detail. I am sure that to be of any service to you will be nothing less than pleasure.
Very truly yours,
A.A. Bear
