Dear Sir: Your courteous favor of the 19' inatans was received and in reply must say that my previous letter concerning the tribes here was misleading. I did not mean that each of the tribes made a different style of baskets for their baskets, are with little variation, all made after the same style. Many thanks for your confidence in my judgement as to selection of baskets as well as for your remittance. I shall try to find something that will suit you. As I mentioned in my previous letter the Indians do not seem to making many baskets just now and while I have a few baskets on hand, yes I'm afraid the quality would not suit you. I shall make a thoro search of the Reservations before sending you any of those on hand. I trust a delay of a week or so will not inconvenience you. I shall probably send them by mail as by express means to take them to Phoenix, 35 miles and besides I am of the opinion you will find it cheaper. Perhaps I am wrong. I am extremely sorry that I have no good ones to send now. But you will understand when I tell you that I have been able to buy but two baskets since August 1. Yours very truly, A.A. Bear Received of Harry L George Ten $10.00 Dollars to be used in purchasing baskets.
