Letter from A.A. Bear to Harry George noting the shipment of a Pima plaque and discussing the same
My Dear Sir:
At last I have secured what is considered a very fine Pima basket or plaque which I am sending you today by registered mail. My friend who has dealt in Puma baskets for a number of years said it was with one exception the finest he had ever handled and in his collection of nearly a thousand it certainly was the finest. I visited the curio dealers in Phoenix and found just one better. It was about ¾ of an inch larger in diameter and a trifle finer but the price was $15 I secured this one for $3 which by the way was the price paid the maker. I know very little about Puma baskets but consider this a beauty and trust you will be pleased with basket and price as above.
I still remain as you see in McDowell and as mentioned before owing to peculiar moves of the Department am not at all certain as to how long I shall remain forever here or elsewhere I shall always be delighted to be of any service to you.
Cordially yours.
