Description

A three-page handwritten letter from F.M. Gilham to Harry George noting he would like to sell to some of Harry George's friends and discussing Pomo feather baskets. Vol 1 P. 166D Mr. George I thank you for your past trade. I would like to sell to some of your Friends who are going to put their collections in the Public Library. ______ I have all the Full and ¼ feathered Pomos to be had. I have a fine red 11 inch "????" \____/ basket which I have known of for a long time and could not secure. The old ???? died a few months ago and as her old husband was a Negro it was not put in her grave. I do not know of but 2 more such baskets and they will not be done for a year or so. I am out amongst the Pomos every 2 weeks and buy all good baskets to be had at a reasonable figure. In case you see any one who may want Pomo baskets, please refer them to me unless it should interfere with you. I have sold over 400 Pomos to anyone in the last 75 days and the trade is always better than in the winter. I guess they are selling to people coming to the Fair. If you can come to the Fair in S.F. let me know I will be there Sep 10 - 20. Respt.
