Letter from George Heye to Harry George noting he does not want to exchange or dispose of Hawikuh items until a publication about them is completed and discussing Harry George's progress in getting a museum for St. Joseph.
Dear Mr. George:
In answer to your letter of January 6th, I would say that we have decided not to exchange or dispose in any way of any of the Hawikuh specimens until the publication concerning them is completed, which will not be for some time to come, as we shall put in another year of field work on the site. However, I would be very glad indeed to bear you in mind, and when the time comes we can probably make an exchange that will be mutually satisfactory.
I want to congratulate you on your progress in getting a museum for the City of St. Joseph, and I certainly hope that you will be able to put the proposition through. If at any time I can be of any use to the committee, pray call upon me and I shall answer to the best of my ability any questions that you may put to me.
Yours very truly,Subject
