Letter from Harry George to A.A. Bear discussing Pima materials, a Mohave Apache plaque, and the tribes already represented in his collection.
Dear Sir:
Many thanks for yours on Jan. 2nd which is thoroughly appreciated. I remember the plaque which you mention but thought the figure on some were on sale, not birds.
I'm perfectly willing to wait if it does not inconvenience you until you can secure such a specimen of Pima basket as would be most desirable. I would prefer geomaterial materials rather than any others. I feel satisfied from what you say of your friend he will fill the order satisfactorily.
In addition to the information in regard to Gila River Reservations, will state on refering to certain notations I have I find I would like to have information about color do Gila and River Bend reservations. Also, San Carlos, as I ?????? specimens from those reservations and would like to know to whom to write. My collections do far represent specimens from Hay, Halapai, Moqui, Navajo, Papago, Supai and your own reservation, also possibly a specimen from the reservations, concerning which I desire information my list of specimens from Arizona will be completed. I find that each of these reservations produce different work so it is hard to tell where to stop to have a representative collection.
I note what you have to say about the Mohave Apache plaque belonging to you. When you are sending anything that you have to send to me, you might send this along. The good tests you have heretofore displayed, lends me to believe that the specimen is very desirable one and for that reason I would like to have it.Subject
