Description

Vol 1 P. 229E Letter from Harry George to George B. Haggett asking if he can provide information about the Duck Valley Reservation in Idaho and whether he can obtain materials from there. Dear Sir: In looking over the Atlas I noticed that the Duck Valley reservation in Idaho is not very far from the reservation under your charge, and thinking you might give me some information in regard to same, I venture to write to you in the interest of what you know about the reservation, and if the Indians on same are makers of baskets. I am trying very hard to finish up the work I started on systematically months ago and I may find it necessary to write to people like yourself, asking for information which perhaps you can supply. In looking over Prof. Mason's work last night I find at the same name as yours mentioned in several places, and I think in one particular place the information came direct from your headquarters. I feel sure you have a deep interest in these matters otherwise you would not supply the information asked for by others, and I feel all the more like asking you to help me out. I wrote to you yesterday and after writing discovered that the Duck Valley reservation could not be very from you. I am deeply interested in what I am trying to do, and feel sure from the interest you have taken so far as the government is concerned that you would be willing to help me out. Let me hear from you in answer to this as well as that of the 19th. In advance I want ti thank you for anything that may be done. Yours very truly,
