Dear Sir:
Many thanks for yours of July 20th. In regard to the baskets made by the
Digger Indians will state I would like to have one of them no matter how coarse and
rough they are. I desire to make a collection of the representative work of each tribe.
A few days ago I wrote to the Round Valley Agency, same being recommended to me by another
Indian agent, If you will let me know what the cost of the best obtainable specimen of the
Digger Indians work will be, I will send you a draft covering same.Subject
