Letter from Harry George to Hudson Bay Fur Company acknowledging he received the shipment of goods and asking questions about the items. Vol 1 P 243K
Gentlemen:
I have just received by Express, a package concerning which you wrote me on the 20th, and sent invoice for the same at that time.
I have gone carefully over this and will decide in the course of a day or two as to what I shall keep - possibly will keep all of it.
The needle case case is minus the needles; I have other needle cases, but no needles to spare. Please try and supply me with the needles that should have accompanied the same.
In writing me originally about this class of merchandise, you spoke of spears and knives, and the one knife you sent is not quite as much as I would like to have. The "blonde Eskimos: live in a copper country, and there should be more copper in the collection than there is - there being but one piece. (handwritten: aside from arrows).
I would like to know also, in regard to Harpoons - if any are to be had from the blonds Eskimos region.
What I want to do is, to have as varied a collection at the same time, as possible.
There are but five arrows with the bow, which is not quite sufficient for the set.
Please answer all these questions, and in the mean time I shall hold the shipment until I hear from you.
Thanking you for your attention, both past ad present, I remain
Yours truly,
