Description

Letter from Harry George to Major Lee Moorhouse thanking him for the Cayuse materials and noting he is going to contact Hamley & Co. Dear Sir: I want to thank you very much for the specimens of Cayuse Indian's work. I am particularly well pleased with the larger piece. It is entirely different from anything I have of this character of work. I have two very handsome wallets made by the Nez Perce Indians, and one which is very much like the smaller piece you send me made by the Umatillas. The larger piece which I suppose is Cayuse, fits in very well, it being entirely different in construction from anything I have. The same materials are used in all three tribes work above mentioned. I am going to write to Hamley & Co, from where these were shipped and try to secure from them a more perfect piece of their work if possible. I am very much pleased, however, with what has been sent, and want to thank you again for your consideration in this matter. Yours very truly,
