Vol 1 P. 272A
Letter from Horace Johnson to Harry George describing Pomo baskets.
Dar Sir:
I am in receipt of your letter of the 10th ???? concerning Indian Baskets and have to say that the Indians under my jurisdiction are basket makers though they do not make so many now as formerly. They have been considered among the best makers in the country. Their work id known as Pomo work. You perhaps have heard of that.
I have some 75 or eighty that I would dispose of if I could get what I think they are worth.
Very Truly Yours.
