Vol 1 P. 275F
Letter from J.T. Welsh to Harry George noting several items from the list have already been sold.
Dear Sir:-
Some of the articles you inquire about are sold and these articles are selling very rapidly so
I am in hopes you may make your selection as soon as possible that I may not disappoint you in them.
Chief among these articles isa Large Gun (which is sold) and the beheading knife. These two articles were the backbone of the collection. I have priced the beheading knife at about 1/5 its value.
At $20 this is a buy for such a rarety. The photo does not bring it up much since it was too dark on
the background.
Another interesting article is the Japanese Ivory dagger sword. I had three of these. There is one left. If you would care for a little bargain in this I will offer you this last one at $10.00. The ivory is
worth twice that.
I am enclosing photos of other articles as are not sold and if there is anything further you
would care to have information on I shall be glad to have your questions.
Of course it is understood that if at anytime you receive an article from which is not just as represented I shall return your money at once. I make this offer openly since I have confidence in
myself and to my customers. Each piece must be absolutely genuine before I will either buy or sell it.
Sincerely,
Subject
