Description

Letter from M.J. Kohlberg to Harry George discussing Navajo Yebachai rugs. Vol I pg. 307E Dear Mr. George: I received your letter of February 28th. I did not see the rug you speak of, but read the article. These rugs are called "Yebachai" and we get them occasionally. We had two excellent ones in January which we sold right away. Of course, they are not plentiful, as the Indians are rather superstitious about weaving them and especially about selling them to white people. Just had a letter from our man in the reservation in which he speaks of another one which he can get. It is about 4' 8" wide by 7' long and contains twenty-eight figures of Indians garbed in their dance dresses. We can offer you this rug for $100, which is less than half the usual price. If you want it, let me hear from you at once and I will send for it. I remain, Very truly yours,
