Letter from Mary K. Gill to Harry George describing baskets available.
Dear Sir
I must apologize for not answering your letter of July 17 before now. I have been very busy.
I do not keep a stock of Paiute baskets on hand. I have only a few for my own collection but I can get anything you want all the way from fifty cents to three dollars. I have no photographs of my baskets. Some that I have at 70 cents each are 6½ inches across and 2 in deep. They have simple figures but sit well for work baskets. The Apache baskets are much handsomer for wall decorations and I would recommend Geo. H. Gebby, McDowell, Arizona for them. He is a trader on the reservation and is a straight man.
If you will write me what Paiute baskets you want I will take pleasure in seeing you get them.
Very Resp.
