Dear sir;
Mr Gillings handed me your letter asking about Indian baskets
The Rogue River Indians who inhabited this section have all departed to the :Happy Hunting Grounds"
There are not many baskets left except in private collections
I have two baskets but do not care to sell them
A1
I have the only Rogue River Indian dancing dress in existence
It is made from nuts which grew along the coast - hollowed out and polished
The dress is valued at $500.
I have a chain of 75 that fell from the dress. A Los Angeles enrico dealer
said they were worth $1 apiece and hard to get.
Under separate cover I am sending you 24 of the beads which came
from the dress.
You may have them for $2.50 and the satisfaction
A2
of knowing they are the genuine article
If you do not care for them please return.
The Indian dress is for sale and I will consider any bid made on it.
Yours truly,
A3
