Vol 1 P. 269L
Letter from Nathan Joseph to Harry George describing a model boat with figures. Goes with photograph Vol. I, pg. 269M.
Dear Sir
The photo I send you was taken inside my room on a dark day and is by no means good as it is surrounded by glass cases and merchandise of all kinds never the less it is sufficiently clear to see thr skin boat with figures and oars in their hands. It is about 18 in. long and contains 12 figures dressed native fashion with skin shirts and pants made from bear intestines. The native heads are covered with a native made wooden hat having a peculiar long shaped peak. The canoe is a perfect model both in ???? and make and was part of a display at our Midwinter Fair held in San Francisco some years ago. The price is $15.00 packing not more than $2.00 and will (the rest of the letter is missing) to hear from you.
