Scope and Content

A carbon copy of a letter from Superintendent J. L. Eaton, M. D. of State Hospital No. 4, Farmington Missouri to Dr. P. E. Williams, Superintendent State Hospital No. 2, St. Joseph, Mo., dated Aug. 13, 1920.

Context

Dear Sir: We have discussed informally the proposition of raising the privates to $25. Without consulting any of the institutions, or having time to do so, we raised the price of War Risk Insurance patients to $30. per month, beginning July 1st. Our patients are costing us now (according to the Accountants from the State Auditor's office), $24.22. Our Board will not meet now until the second Monday in Sept. and if the others have agreed to any uniform rate, kindly advise me before that time and I feel that our Board will co-operate with the other institutions in a uniform rate for private patients, for say, $25. per month With kindest personal regards and best wishes, I am Sincerely yours,
