Description

Letter from Taylor P. Gabbard to Harry George discussing the kinds of baskets Mohave and Tonto Apache make and asking what Harry George would like. It is on Department of the Interior, United States Indian Service letterhead. Vol 1 P. 162A Sir: Replying to your letters of July 21, 1908, and September 4th, 1908, you are informed that the Mohave-Apache and Tonto Apache Indians under my charge make a variety of patterns of excellent willow baskets ranging in price from one dollar up to twenty dollars according to the quality of work, pattern and size of the basket. What kind and how many do you desire? What prices are you willing to pay? I have been discussing your letter with the Indians and I suppose the purchases can be made thru me. Very Respectfully,
