Centralia Boon Co Mo June 29 Dear Dick I take the pen to inform you that all is well and doing the best we can for ourselves John cant get his stock out of St Louis now and there is no telling when he can as Mo has been invaded by the governments troops and several fights have occurred and in every one with the retreat of the state troops but with the most loss on the federal side Every time I would write the true statement of the case- but letters in St. Lewis is all broken open and I can’t say whether you will get this or not I sent you a letter with ten dollars in it but can’t hear whether or not you got it as I have not heard from you since I hope
