Context

Querida - Such a lot I have to tell you! This week has been such a busy one. . . . I shall start with Wed. and go on from there. Miss Gallagher was not at school Wed. - Fri. . . . she fell at home and broke three small bones in her foot, displaced others, strained a ligament . . . , and hurt a muscle in the opposite leg. . . . . . She . . . hopes to be at work tomorrow . . . Wed. I was pre-occupied with preparations for the program after the church supper that night. . . . things went off very smoothly, and our collection amounted to over $30, . . . . While talking with John, I told him you enjoyed being home and hearing him again. . . . . He was in the midst of writing twenty-one prayers. . One of the radio stations is going to start & end each day with a prayer, . . . . . I have now bought three Christmas cards for the minister, so we should be able to pick one that we like. Butch . . . and Bill . . both were chosen for the City League football all-stars. . . . . . . (They) were also named to the all-Pony Express team, . . . . . . . . , everything is happening on the 17th! . . . , the A.A.U.N Christmas party occurs, and our choir is to go caroling at the County Home. . . . Wish I were triplets. And I wish you'd see all the good movies that have been, are, or will be here! . . . "The Quiet Man" . . "Way of a Gaucho" . , "The Lusty Men" . . . . "The Crimson Pirate" . . "Red River" . . , Les Miserables" . . "My Man and I" , and "O'Henry's Full House".. . . Tomorrow night I have two A.A.U.N. meetings, . . the Music Group, . . . (and) the Board. . . . That will be two Board meetings I have missed; . . . . This afternoon we are all going to the Fortnightly Oregon Recital, . . . J.C. coir is to sing, . . . Maxine is to play, . . . will start out with Bach. . . . As usual, I have saved the best for the last. John preached this morning on "Can a Christian Hate?" . . . He started out with . . . "Be angry, but do not sin". . . . Today is December 7th; . . . Its infamy we can never forget. . . . From then on we learned, or were taught to hate the enemy. . . . Many times Jesus was angry . . . because of evildoers or hypocrites, . . . or the money changers. . . . . . anger, a thing of brief duration; . . "never let the sun set on your anger", . . . . We must seek forgiveness. . . . But why spea of hate in the Christmas season? This is a time of love and peace on earth. . . . . - how can you fight Red Communism with love? . . . . . . . Letting anger grow and fester into hatred is sin. . . . It isn't' the big things that bring hatred, but the little things which we dwell on and do not allow to die, . . . . . . (The devil) works not only by temptation of the flesh, but by temptation of the mind & spirit as well. "Be angry, but do not sin". It was powerful, . . .Hope you are well, . . . Mama has been having her back trouble again. I hope she is soon over it. Love from all,
