95.1P.439 = Distance view of man standing in grassy field, Tree-lined background. Legend: "Lodge Pole Station Site (Pole Creek #3 on our map). Located on Schnell's St. George Ranch east of Sydney, Nebr. Only faint ridges show the one time location of buildings and corrals."
95.1P.440 = Man standing in swale near line of trees. Legend: " Overland Trail ruts at crossing of Lodge Pole Creek at site of Lodge Pole Creek Station. Station Site is on South Side of Creek. View and crossing is to the north west." Also." Lodge Pole Creek crossing. Note Overland Road ruts. They cross creek here and then head north northwestward. 'Thirty-mile ridge' of 'Jules Stretch' towards Midway and Mud Springs Stations. (1959)."

Also Legend: "The late Emil Kopac of Oshkosh, Nebraska, holding a piece of rubble rock from Pole Creek Station which was just south of the crossing. Mr. Kopac and his knowledge of trail history was our guidance to sites across much of western Nebraska. He had been instrumental in re-locating many of the old stations in his area having covered much of the trail on foot. His Overland Trail papers, books and photographs are now in the University of Nebraska Historical Archives."
